Smith serves as a liaison between Dominion Energy and state and local stakeholders, helping to support economic development and energy reliability. Before joining Dominion, Smith was chief of staff to state Sen. Louise Lucas. He also is a commissioner on the Suffolk Redevelopment and Housing Authority.
KEY TO MY SUCCESS: Preparation paired with consistency and accountability. I take pride in doing the quiet work, understanding the details, anticipating concerns and following through so that others can lead effectively. I believe credibility is built over time by being reliable, calm and solutions-oriented, especially when stakes are high.
SOMETHING SURPRISING ABOUT ME: People are often surprised to learn how much of my life is centered on responsibility and routine rather than titles or visibility. Outside of work, I am a very hands-on father, and much of how I approach leadership comes from balancing professional demands with being present at home. That perspective keeps me grounded and reminds me that the decisions I help shape professionally affect real families.
