TOP PROJECTS 2026: Projects honored this year span the range of Virginia’s commercial built environment, from an urban surf lagoon and entertainment venue to graduate education facilities, medical campuses, multifamily communities and landmark industrial and mixed-use developments.

TOP REAL ESTATE DEALS 2026: Honoring significant commercial real estate transactions — from a major federal acquisition in Chantilly to a complex Google data center land assemblage in Chesterfield County.

Together, these awards reflect the wide range of projects and transactions transforming communities across the commonwealth. In selecting honorees, Virginia Business editors considered the scope, degree of difficulty, creativity in design, innovative construction techniques, cooperation among contractors and management, and sustainability efforts.
