The Omni Homestead Resort & Spa in has appointed a Fairmont Hotels & Resorts executive to be its managing director, according to a Tuesday announcement.

Jacco van Teeffelen succeeds Mark Spadoni, who held the role for more than four years. In a December 2025 LinkedIn post, Spadoni wrote that he would be completing his assignment at the Homestead by the end of the year.

“I was blessed with the opportunity to lead the transformation of The Homestead through a $180 million renovation, repositioning and guiding it through stabilization to record-breaking financial performance,” Spadoni wrote. “As the accolades and awards continue to come in, it is great to see the Grand Dame return as one of the premier four-season mountain resorts in the country.”

A graduate of the Hotel Management School Maastricht in the Netherlands, van Teeffelen comes to Hot Springs from Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, where he worked for more than 15 years, most recently serving as general manager of Fairmont Mayakoba in Mexico’s Riviera Maya.

Additionally, van Teeffelen held leadership positions at Fairmont Winnipeg, Fairmont San Francisco, Fairmont Grand Del Mar and The Savoy Hotel.

At Omni Homestead, van Teeffelen will be charged with shaping the property’s long-term vision while preserving the traditions of the 260-year-old resort.

“Jacco is a highly respected hospitality leader with an exceptional track record of guiding iconic luxury resorts and cultivating high-performing teams,” Dan Piotrowski, senior vice president of operations for Omni Hotels & Resorts, said in a statement.

The Homestead sits on 2,300 acres in the Allegheny Mountains. The resort features 483 guest rooms and suites, 76,000 square feet of meeting space and multiple dining options and recreational activities, including a spa and two championship golf courses. Under Spadoni, the resort underwent $170 million in renovations that were completed in 2023.

Texas-based Omni Hotels & Resorts acquired The Homestead in 2013. The hospitality company has 50 hotels and resorts in the United States and Canada.
