With more than 20 years of experience in health care, including work as a nurse practitioner, Omorogbe now focuses on higher education and workforce development across Hampton Roads. At Sentara College of Health Sciences, she launched a health science program that has achieved a 100% board pass rate and 100% job placement for every graduating class since 2021. Omorogbe is the inaugural chair of Sentara’s Women in the Workplace Employee Resource Group, which has grown to more than 800 members in two years, and she serves on the Old Dominion University Alumni Association’s board.
HOW I GIVE BACK: I have volunteered my time with organizations including the Boys & Girls Clubs, the Urban League of Hampton Roads, United Way Day of Caring, ForKids, the YMCA and the YWCA.
HOW I STAND OUT: I use unique, holistic techniques to create learning environments that help students regulate their emotions, soothe nerves and stay focused, which enhances understanding, retention and builds the confidence they need to succeed from day one.
