Having worked in economic development across Hampton Roads and Henrico County for over a decade, Cobert returned to Hampton last year. He leads market research, branding and prospect engagement efforts for the city’s economic development department. A Virginia Commonwealth University double graduate, he holds a master’s degree in urban and regional planning and serves on the Hampton Roads Association for Commercial Real Estate board. He has had a hand in landing several large projects, including the Meta data center in Henrico and LS GreenLink USA’s advanced cable manufacturing facility in Chesapeake.
KEY TO MY SUCCESS: Much of my success has come from never shying away from learning new areas of my industry or new tools/technologies that will benefit the organization.
WHERE I SEE MYSELF IN 10 YEARS: I want to be someone who can help bridge the gap between communities and local leadership — making sure those who often feel left out of the development process know their voices matter and are heard.
