McNamara has spent his career connecting housing policy to economic opportunity across Virginia. At Virginia Housing, a state agency focused on affordable residential financing, he designed and implemented the Virginia Workforce Housing Investment Program, an initiative that has allocated more than $31 million to develop 1,100 housing units across Virginia. McNamara also serves on boards for the Virginia Economic Developers Association, the ULI-Virginia Advisory Council, and the Richmond LGBTQ Chamber.
HOW I GIVE BACK: I volunteer in Richmond with Sports Backers, a local nonprofit with the mission to “inspire people to live actively.” I have volunteered as a coach for the Monument Avenue 10K Training Team at a local YMCA for four years.
WHERE I SEE MYSELF IN 10 YEARS: I hope to still be working with partners to promote new development in an equitable, community-driven manner.
