Three Virginia companies were named in Working Mother magazine’s “Best Companies for Hourly Workers” for 2013, which awards employers that have the best policies and programs for promoting women, as well as a dynamic work/life culture.
Richmond-based Bon Secours Virginia Health System as well as Capital One Financial and Hilton Worldwide in McLean were three of a dozen companies highlighted by New York-based Working Mother magazine.
The survey, conducted by Working Mother Research Institute, reveals that 41 percent of hourly employees at the Best Companies participate in family health insurance programs through their employers, and 61 percent participate in employer-sponsored personal health insurance programs.
All of the companies on this list offer career advancement opportunities, including technology training and mentoring. Ten out of the twelve offer career counseling and language skills training.
