Newly created Falls Church defense tech company files for IPO

Lyntris, a Falls Church-based defense technology company, filed plans Thursday for an initial public offering.

The number of shares to be offered and the price range have not yet been determined, according to a July 23 news release. The company will list on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker LYNX.

Lyntris was formed in May by combining two businesses owned by Dallas-based private equity firm Trive Capital: Accelint and Vitesse. Trive Capital owns 69% of the stock of Lyntris, according to a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

Trive acquired control of Accelint in 2022 and Vitesse in 2018. Vitesse designed and manufactured integrated radio frequency, antenna, thermal and power solutions for defense and space environments. Accelint’s products included AI, autonomy and mission systems for defense.

Lyntris develops technology solutions with sensor architecture, sensor hardware and data and software to support military operations in space, air, land and sea.

“The company addresses a central challenge in modern warfare: sensing threats earlier, making sense of complex data faster and enabling action with greater speed and precision across contested, multi-domain environments,” according to a May 11 news release.

As of June 30, Lyntris had more than 1,000 full-time, part-time and temporary employees, including over 300 engineers, scientists and software specialists, according to the SEC filing.

Lyntris CEO Brian Morrison joined Accelint as CEO in October 2025. Previously, he was executive vice president and group general manager of cyber and mission solutions at Arlington County-based defense contractor AeroVironment.

Matthew Alty serves as president and vice chair of Lyntris. Alty previously served as Vitesse’s CEO, a role he held beginning in 2020. Previously, he served as a vice president at Bodycote, an England-based provider of heat treatment and thermal processing services.

In addition to its headquarters at 3130 Fairview Park Drive in Falls Church, Lyntris has facilities in California, Nevada, Colorado, Maryland, Michigan, Massachusetts, Texas, Florida and Washington, D.C.

For fiscal 2025, the combined companies earned about $389 million in revenue. The companies reported a net loss of about $8.5 million in 2025, according to the filing. In 2025, they supported more than 200 programs for the U.S. Department of Defense and allied nation programs.
