Everforth wins $115M Army contract to accelerate AI capabilities

Fairfax-based federal contractor Everforth ECS announced Tuesday that it has won a three-year, $115 million U.S. Army contract to accelerate the development, testing and integration of advanced artificial intelligence capabilities for the Department of Defense.

Under the award, Everforth will provide research, development, testing and evaluation services for AI and machine learning technologies to manage massive datasets and build the scalable computing infrastructure needed for future Army operations. The work will support the Army’s Nautilus program, which supports Army research and experimentation.

“AI is reshaping how the DOW will operate in the years ahead, but realizing its full potential requires securely delivering that technology when and where it can help service members make faster, better-informed decisions in the most demanding operational environments,” Everforth ECS President Donnie Scott said in a statement. “We’re honored to partner with the Army on the Nautilus program to advance AI innovation, strengthen our nation’s defense technology ecosystem and deliver capabilities that improve mission outcomes.

He said the award also creates new opportunities for technical talent in AI development, secure software engineering, systems integration and cybersecurity. The company did not immediately respond to requests for comment on how many jobs the contract is expected to support.

“Nautilus represents the next step in bringing trusted AI from the laboratory into real-world operational environments,” Daniel Keller, head of the defense business unit at Everforth ECS, said in a statement. “Our team brings deep experience delivering AI in bandwidth- and compute-constrained environments, and we’re excited to apply that expertise to help the Army develop, test and operationalize AI capabilities that can be rapidly integrated across today’s and tomorrow’s mission landscape.”

The work will be performed in Fairfax, with an estimated completion date of May 27, 2029.

Everforth ECS specializes in advanced technology services related to data and AI, cybersecurity and enterprise transformation. It is the federal government segment of Everforth, a Henrico County-based Fortune 1000 IT and professional staffing firm formerly known as ASGN, which rebranded in late April.

Everforth has focuses on six areas — AI and data, cloud and infrastructure, application and digital engineering, experience, cybersecurity and enterprise platforms.

At the end of 2025, the company employed approximately 19,600 billable professionals and 2,800 internal employees. In March, Everforth completed its $290 million acquisition of Quinnox, adding approximately 2,000 employees from the digital services firm to its commercial segment.
