Bearfield succeeds Stephanie Mango, who will transition to executive vice president and chief administrative officer for CGI’s global operations. Mango will continue to work in in her new role, which involves supporting operations in 40 countries and for more than 94,000 employees, while also reimagining enterprise processes and accelerating the adoption of autonomous AI systems.

Mango has led CGI Federal, which is headquartered in Fairfax County, since 2021. She joined CGI in 2004 when it acquired her former employer, American Management Systems.

As president of CGI Federal, Bearfield will lead nearly 8,000 employees working with federal agencies in defense, civilian, healthcare, justice, intelligence and international affairs sectors.

“With nearly 30 years of experience supporting clients across the U.S. federal government, Alisa has consistently demonstrated the ability to guide teams and help agencies harness technology to modernize, transform and achieve mission outcomes at scale,” CGI President and CEO Tim Hurlebaus said in a statement.

After graduating from Binghamton University with a degree in business administration and a concentration in management information systems, Bearfield joined CGI Federal as a project manager in 1997.

In 2006, CGI Federal promoted Bearfield to director of consulting services, a role she held for a decade before being promoted to vice president of consulting services. In 2021, CGI Federal placed Bearfield in charge of the civilian business unit. In that role, she has worked to drive efficiencies, foster innovation and develop cost-effective solutions.

“Alisa is widely respected for delivering complex digital programs grounded in security, transparency and innovation,” Hurlebaus added.
