Virginia has opened an agricultural trade office in Canada, Gov. Bob McDonnell’s office announced Wednesday. The Canadian office is the commonwealth’s eighth agricultural trade office abroad.
According to a news release, Canada is Virginia’s second largest export market. In 2012, $205 million worth of Virginia’s agricultural products were imported to Canada.
Toronto-based consulting firm Argyle Communications will represent Virginia's agricultural and forestry interests in Canada.
