Richmond Bumper buys 200,000-square-foot Mechanicsville building for relocation.

The ownership of Richmond Bumper Inc. has purchased a a 200,000-square-foot industrial facility at 8080 AMF Drive in Hanover County for $4.4 million.

The company business is used and rebuilt parts.

The company said it would expand into the new location in Mechanicsville during the next several months, relocating its existing operation with 50 employees from the 62,500-square-foot building it owns in Henrico County at 8820 Park Central Drive.

The AMF Drive facility is situated on more than 30 acres east of Richmond International Airport. It has frontage on and visibility from Interstate 295.

Among other tenants, the building has housed the production company filming the HBO miniseries “John Adams” (2005-2007).

Clifford B. Porter and Robert E. Porter Jr. of Porter Realty Co., handled the marketing and sale on behalf of the seller, and Richard W. Porter, also of Porter Realty, represented the buyer.

Richard W. Porter will be the exclusive agent marketing for the Park Central Drive facility.

Originally built in 1994, the property includes a 22,500-square-foot addition constructed in 2004, as well as dock and drive-in loading. It’s located in a business park at the I-95/Parham Road exit.
