California-based IT services company  announced last week that it plans to lay off 51 employees at White Oak Technology Park in , with layoffs expected to begin June 28.

The company notified the state of the layoffs in an April 29 letter filed under the federal Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Act. Milestone said the layoffs at its facility at 6200 Technology Blvd. in are due to the end of a contract with a client at that location. Although the WARN notice did not identify the client, county property records list the site owner as Scout Development, with the mailing address listed care of Facebook Inc. Tax Department. Buildings on the site are labeled as “Facebook Building 2” in property records.

Neither Milestone nor Facebook owner , formerly known as Facebook Inc., responded to requests for comment.

The roughly 2,300-acre White Oak Technology Park in eastern Henrico is home to major operations, including facilities operated by QTS as well as .

Founded in 1997, Milestone Technologies is a Silicon Valley-based IT services and data center support provider that has worked with major technology companies, including Meta.

According to the filing, most of the affected workers are data center associates. None of the employees are represented by a union.

Also last week, GXO Logistics announced plans to lay off 66 employees at a facility within the White Oak Technology Park area.

In a separate WARN filing, GXO said it will cease operations for a client at its site at 4000 Technology Court in Sandston, with layoffs expected on or around June 30.

The affected GXO employees are not represented by a union and do not have bumping rights, meaning they cannot displace more junior workers in other roles.
