General Dynamics Information Technology, a unit of Fairfax County-based General Dynamics, is one of 17 companies selected to provide cybersecurity services to government agencies under a contract potentially worth $6 billion.
Under the five-year contract, General Dynamics would provide the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), federal, state, local and tribal governments with continuous monitoring tools and services to strengthen the security of .gov networks.
The company also would assess and combat cyber risks and support the launch of DHS' Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation (CDM) program.
“General Dynamics has a long history providing cybersecurity services to the Department of Homeland Security and other federal agencies,” Zannie Smith, senior vice president and general manager of General Dynamics Information Technology's National and Homeland Security division, said in a statement. “We look forward to leveraging our many years of DHS program management experience and in-depth understanding of DHS' goals and objectives to help agencies improve their network security.”
