Employees at startup celebrated the opening of the company’s new in this week, a move that is expected to prompt a couple dozen new hires.

About 60 Faye employees have moved into a 6,100-sqare-foot office space at the at 2810 N. Parham Road last week, said Jeff Rolander, the company’s vice president of customer experience and claims.

The Richmond staff outgrew its previous office space in the downtown Arts District, Rolander said during a Wednesday interview.

“We’ll be expanding by a couple dozen, probably by the end of this year,” he added.

Most employees who work in the new space provide customer experience and claims assistance and report to Rolander. “We provide real-time support to our customers,” he said. “We do that from Richmond.”

In total, Faye has about 160 employees, with the bulk working remotely. The business has offices in Virginia and Tel Aviv, Israel.

Elad Schaffer and Daniel Green founded Faye in 2019. About three years later, the company launched an app designed for American travelers that provides real-time flight alerts, access to telemedicine doctors, the ability to chat with a 24/7 support concierge and file and receive reimbursements.

Schaffer, Faye’s CEO, bounces between Israel and the United States, according to Rolander.

Prior to joining Faye in 2021, Rolander spent about two decades working in travel insurance at subsidiaries of Allianz Group.

He got his start in the industry by taking a Richmond-based job with Sentry, the Wisconsin-based insurance company, following his graduation from the University of Richmond.

“I was thinking about going to law school and ended up falling in love with the career that I had,” he said. “The world has plenty of lawyers without me adding to it.”

In 2025, Faye announced it had reached $100 million in annual sales. That same year, Time magazine included the company’s travel insurance on its Best Inventions of 2025 list.

“We’re continuing to grow,” Rolander said.
