Army awards $869M contract to Leidos

Contract aimed at accelerating decision making

The has awarded an $869 million contract to -based Fortune 500 government contractor to design, build and integrate secure systems for the Pentagon aimed at accelerating military decision-making.

Leidos will use , advanced networking and modular open architecture with the five-year Mission Awareness Capabilities Ramp-up and Optimization II competitive contract.

“This program is designed to help the joint force turn growing volumes of data into clear, operationally relevant insight, with the goal of enabling warfighters to understand the battlefield and act faster than the enemy,” Chad Haferbier, Leidos’ senior vice president of decision advantage, said in a statement. “We are excited to partner with the Army and joint partners to accelerate how we develop and integrate mission systems for multidomain operations.”

Under Leidos’ NorthStar 2030 strategy, developed in 2024, the company focuses on five growth engines: space and maritime, energy infrastructure, digital modernization and cyber, mission software, and managed health.

“Driving government efficiencies is fundamental to everything we do, and that’s exactly what the new administration is all about,” Leidos CEO Tom Bell said in a February statement.

Leidos laid off 93 workers in Ashburn in January. In March, the company completed a $2.4 billion acquisition of Illinois-based utilities infrastructure design firm Entrust Solutions Group.

Leidos has more than 50,000 global employees and reported revenue of $17.2 billion for the fiscal year that ended Jan. 2.
