Gov. Terry McAuliffe announced Tuesday that Windward Consulting, an information technology consulting company based in Herndon, is investing $825,000 to expand its headquarters in Fairfax County. The project is expected to create 97 jobs.
Windward Consulting helps large organizations manage their data centers and networks. The company, formed in 1997, has nearly 200 employees Windward has more than 500 clients around the globe.
“We have found that the caliber of a highly educated workforce, combined with the strength of the economy, have made Fairfax County an excellent location for us,” Sean McDermott, founder and CEO of Windward Consulting Group, said in a statement. “The close proximity to Washington D.C., and the continued growth in the Dulles Technology Corridor have been instrumental in our growth over the past 20 years.”
The company will receive funding and consultative services from Virginia Economic Development Partnership’s Virginia Jobs Investment Program (VJIP), an incentive available to companies creating new jobs or experiencing technological change.
