Entertainment Cruises, the owner of the Spirit of Norfolk, has announced a $1.2 million renovation to the ship, which will debut this April.

The Spirit of Norfolk is 187-foot long ship offering cruises from the Waterside in downtown Norfolk. The waterfront area is undergoing a significant transformation with the new Waterside District, 300 residential units at the Bank of America tower and a new Hilton hotel called The Main.

The new Spirit of Norfolk will launch as the ship model for the company. Major renovations will include new lounge areas, modern décor, interactive games and a menu that features fresh and organic foods.

Entertainment’s sister ship, The Spirit of New Jersey, currently docked at Town Point Park, will continue its regular schedule to Norfolk Naval Base.

Chicago-based Entertainment owns a fleet of 30 ships in New York, Chicago, Washington, D.C., Boston, Baltimore, Norfolk and South Florida. The company hosts more than 1.5 million guests each year.
