Seattle-based Nordstrom Inc. plans to open a 33,000-square-foot Nordstrom Rack store next spring at Springfield Town Center in Springfield.
The Nordstrom Rack store is part of a total renovation of the shopping that its owners say will include retailers and restaurants. The mall’s current anchor tenants include Macy's, Target and JCPenney.
Nordstrom Rack is the off-price retail division of Nordstrom Inc., offering apparel, accessories and shoes at prices of 30 to 70 percent off normal retail levels.
The Nordstrom Rack store at Springfield Town Center will be the sixth in Virginia. The company also operates five Nordstrom department stores in the commonwealth.
Springfield Town Center is a 1.35 million-square-foot regional shopping center. It is currently owned by Vornado Realty Trust and is under agreement to be acquired by Pennsylvania Real Estate Investment Trust (PREIT).
Nordstrom operates 270 stores in 36 states, including 116 full-line stores, 151 Nordstrom Racks, two Jeffrey boutiques, and one clearance store.
