Reston-based Modus Create Inc., a technology consulting firm, has acquired Philadelphia-based product and application development firm Promptworks LLC, Modus announced Tuesday.

A dollar amount for the acquisition was not disclosed. The acquisition follows two others made by Modus Create this year. In May, the company acquired Atlas Authority, a New York-based information technology services and consulting company, and in June it acquired Paris-based product engineering firm Tweag.

Acquiring Promptworks will allow Modus to deepen product development capabilities and establish a foothold in Philadelphia. Promptworks CEO Greg Sterndale will remain in his role and he and other senior executives will join Modus Create as advisers.

“The addition of Promptworks further strengthens our reputation for building unique, human-centered applications for leading global brands,” Sarah McCasland, Modus Create’s chief strategy officer, said in a statement. “Creating successful products is more important than ever as organizations strive to attract and maintain successful customer relationships.”

Modus employs approximately 500 people. The company reported more than $40 million in revenue for fiscal 2021, which lines up with the calendar year.

“Promptworks and Modus Create align in their fundamental approach to product development,” Sterndale said. “Modus has impressive clients, an incredible team, and a clear strategy for growth. I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished at Promptworks, and I’m excited to be joining an organization with complementary offerings, a deeper bench, and global reach.”
