Richmond-based Media General said Monday that it has signed an agreement to acquire WHTM TV in Harrisburg, Pa. for $83.4 million in cash.
The station is currently owned by Hunt Valley, Md.-based Sinclair Broadcast Group Inc. who previously announced that it would seek to divest the station in connection with its pending acquisition of Allbritton’s broadcasting properties.
WHTM is the No. 2 ranked television station in the 43rd-largest designated market area in the U.S. The transaction is subject to certain conditions including the closing of the Sinclair-Allbritton transaction and typical regulatory clearances.
