Herndon-based satellite company HawkEye 360 Inc. announced Monday that former Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe and former National Security Agency Deputy Director Chris Inglis have joined its advisory board. The company also announced earlier this month that David Farnsworth was named its chief financial officer.

“HawkEye 360 is exactly the kind of business whose growth I encouraged during my time as Virginia’s governor,” McAuliffe said in a statement. “I look forward to applying my years of experience as a public official to advise HawkEye 360 as it develops its geospatial capabilities for the public and private sectors.”

The company uses satellites in formation to create radio frequency data and data analytics for maritime and emergency response organizations, as well as spectrum analysis applications.

Farnsworth, the company’s new CFO, most recently was vice president and CFO for integrated defense systems at defense contractor Raytheon Co. He had been with the company since 1982.

He earned his bachelor’s degree from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and his master’s degree in business administration from Boston University.

Founded in 2015, HawkEye 360 offers three main products including its signal mapping product RFGeo, its survey product RFMosaic and its analytics product SEAker.
