Toano-based Lumber Liquidators announced Friday a $60 million expansion that’s expected to create approximately 250 new jobs in the commonwealth.
“Virginia has been a wonderful home for Lumber Liquidators, and we are so excited about reconfirming our commitment to this great state,” Robert Lynch, president and CEO of Lumber Liquidators, said in a statement.
The hardwood flooring retailer is increasing its corporate and manufacturing operations, led by the expansion of its flagship Bellawood hardwood flooring finishing. Lumber Liquidators also is consolidating its East Coast distribution center in Henrico County, which will keep 500 jobs in Virginia. The 250 new jobs would be created over the next three years.
A $2 million performance-based grant from the Virginia Investment Partnership program was approved for the project. The company considered other locations around the country before deciding to maintain and expand its presence in Virginia.
Lumber Liquidators has more than 315 locations in North America.
