WILMINGTON, Del. — A list filed with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware revealed 200 Big Lots stores that Gordon Brothers expects to transfer to Variety Wholesalers.

The document has a provision that objections to the proposed assumption and assignment must be filed with the court to be received no later than Feb.18 at 4 p.m. If there are objections, a hearing will be scheduled. If not, the court could grant the provisions of the motion. In all, the stores are located in 15 states, mostly in the Southeast.

In January, Gordon Brothers listed some 687 Big Lots leases in 47 states that will not be picked up and are for sale.

Gordon Brothers acquired the Top 100 retailer’s assets on Jan. 9, including its stores, distribution centers and intellectual property as part of Big Lots’ Chapter 11 bankruptcy process, which began on Sept. 9, 2024. As part of the acquisition, it plans to transfer at least 200 stores to Variety Wholesalers, Inc.
