Arlington-based Macfadden & Associates Inc., a subsidiary of Falls Church-based Pacific Architects and Engineers Co. (PAE), has been awarded a $177.5 million task order to support the United States Agency for International Development (USAID)’s Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance, the company announced Wednesday.
Macfadden, an international consulting firm offering technical services to governments, will deliver administrative and operational services in support of BHA’s role as USAID’s lead federal coordinator for international disaster assistance.
The award builds on PAE’s strategy of expanding its support for USAID’s humanitarian efforts, said Charlie Peiffer, PAE’s interim president and CEO in a statement.
USAID leads international development and humanitarian efforts. The agency provides life-saving humanitarian assistance, including food, water, shelter, emergency healthcare, sanitation, hygiene and nutrition services. The Bureau for Humanitarian Assistance was established in 2020.
