Woodhour has spent 32 years with Maersk Line, starting in sales and marketing, working his way up to president and CEO in 2016.
Maersk Line is the Virginia-based U.S. arm of Danish shipping giant A.P. Møller-Mærsk, founded in 1983 to support the Navy. With offices in Norfolk and Dulles, it specializes in providing transportation, ship management and maritime technical services to government and commercial clients.
With the largest U.S. flag fleet in commercial service, it employs approximately 700 U.S. mariners and collaborates with major U.S. maritime unions.
A University of Delaware alumnus, Woodhour received an Admiral of the Ocean Sea award from the United Seaman’s Service in 2021. He serves as vice chairman of the National Defense Transportation Association’s board and is a member of the leadership council for the Seafarers International House, a New York organization for asylum seekers and vulnerable seafarers.
