Litton serves as president of HGI, a real estate investment and management firm that reported a gross asset value of more than
$19 billion in the first quarter of 2022. The company focuses on office, retail, multifamily and alternative investments throughout the country and the United Kingdom. One of its most famous properties is the Eero Saarinen-designed CBS Building in midtown New York City, which HGI acquired for $760 million last year. Former owner ViacomCBS is leasing back space from HGI.
A University of Virginia graduate, Litton earned his law degree there in 1992 and was a partner at Kaufman & Canoles before joining HGI in 2004. In addition to overseeing day-to-day operations, Litton leads HGI’s investment and credit committees and serves on its executive and operations committees. He also manages HGI’s transactions group.
Outside of work, Litton is a foster parent who’s a founding director of Tidewater Friends of Foster Care, for which he serves as board secretary and treasurer. He also sits on Eastern Virginia Medical School’s board of visitors and is a board director for the ACCESS College Foundation.
