Ballard, the company’s founder, has more than 37 years of construction experience and has worked as a project manager, superintendent, estimator, carpenter and laborer. In May, his company raised the first steel beam in the construction of the Rivers Casino Portsmouth as part of a joint venture with Mississippi-based Yates Construction. The $300 million-plus project from Rush Street Gaming is scheduled to open in early 2023 and will include a casino, sportsbook, restaurants, a live entertainment lounge and a hotel and events center.
A Norfolk native, Ballard is a member of the Virginia Beach Wetlands Board. He also is a member of the Associated General Contractors of America, the American Concrete Institute and the American Society of Concrete Contractors. Philanthropically, he has supported the Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters and Horizons Hampton Roads.
