After an early childhood spent moving around the globe following her father, an Air Force officer, Chandler landed in Norfolk in 1973 at Old Dominion University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in environmental health. In 1991, she joined the realty company started by her mother-in-law, Nancy Chandler; it merged with competitor Rose & Womble in 2019. Her division handles residential property management services in the Hampton Roads area.
Chandler is passionate about volunteering. “I like being involved with community. I think part of that has to do with growing up in a military family,” she told CoVa Biz magazine in 2018.
Chandler chairs ODU’s Real Estate Foundation. She also serves on the board of the Virginia Arts Festival and has supported the Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters.
