Under Pesicka’s leadership since 2019, Fortune 500 health care logistics and supplies company Owens & Minor employs more than 1,400 people in Virginia and about 20,000 worldwide.
The company reported $9.95 billion in 2022 revenue, but its net income was $22 million, down from a pandemic high of $222 million when the company was selling tons of in-demand medical equipment. Accordingly, Pesicka announced that Owens & Minor, which laid off 61 workers in February, will be undertaking an operational realignment program aimed at delivering $200 million in annual adjusted operating income by 2025.
Last year, Owens & Minor completed its $1.7 billion acquisition of home health care equipment supplier Apria. Combined with Owens & Minor’s Byram Healthcare subsidiary, Apria is now part of the company’s Patient Direct segment, providing services and products directly to consumers.
Pesicka previously served as chief commercial officer and senior vice president at Thermo Fisher Scientific. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Muskingum University and an MBA from Case Western Reserve University.
HOBBY/PASSION: Coaching, home repair and remodeling. While my days of football coaching have passed, I now coach a great team of more than 20,000 Owens & Minor teammates.
