Accenture Federal Services wins $341M federal contract

Accenture Federal Services (AFS), an Arlington-based subsidiary of Irish Fortune Global 500 company Accenture, announced Monday it has been awarded a $341 million U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC) contract to consolidate its business systems and data platform. 

Under the contract, AFS will move the DOC’s finance, acquisition, property, and enterprise data warehouse into a commercial software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform, consolidating the data into one application location. 

“The Department of Commerce’s plan to modernize its business systems enables the agency to gain a more complete picture of its budget and spending trends and improve financial decision-making,” AFS CEO John Goodman said in a statement. “We’re delighted to support them using proven commercial platforms to consolidate their business and back office applications into a single suite of systems.”  

The contract will run for one base year and has 19 option years. AFS has worked with the DOC since the early 2000s. It has done analytics, artificial intelligence, cyber security, digital transformation and finance operations work for the agency.

“AFS is honored to continue our relationship with the Department of Commerce to modernize its business application solutions,” Scott Dowling, BAS managing director with AFS, said in a statement. “Through the use of human-centered design, DOC can create a consensus-building environment and achieve operational efficiencies across the department. This will ultimately help DOC reduce operation redundancies, simplify administrative functions and modernize its data platform while meeting OMB requirements.”

AFS has clients within the national security, federal health, military and civilian services industries.
