Herndon-based SkyBitz, a remote asset tracking and information-management company, has acquired SMARTLogix, a provider of petroleum management, inventory and transportation logistics solutions.
Financial details of the transaction were not announced.
SMARTLogix, based in Fort Mill, S.C., has been a long time partner of Chicago-based Telular Corp., the parent company of SkyBitz, and has provided Telular’s tank monitoring solutions to the petroleum distribution industry.
As a result of the acquisition, SMARTLogix is now part of SkyBitz, Telular’s commercial telematics division.
SMARTLogix transportation logistics software offers petroleum distributors a real-time solution for processing orders, managing dispatch functions, digitally capturing delivery information, and real-time truck, driver, and product GPS tracking.
SMARTLogix’s primary market is the petroleum logistics business in North America and Canada. Customers are distributors of petroleum products (bulk fuels, lubes, and used oil) as well as commercial and transportation fuel end users.
