Chesterfield County’s economic development director since 2006 has announced his retirement. The county said in a news release that Will Davis will retire as soon as a replacement is found.
The county will conduct a nationwide search and expects to fill the position by early summer.
Chesterfield has seen $3.2 billion in new capital investment and 8,200 new jobs during Davis’ tenure. His occupancy also saw the county’s largest commercial investment to date. Tranlin Paper Co. announced last year that it would invest $2 billion to build a new facility and create about 2,000 new jobs at the James River Industrial Center.
