Acentia acquires Atlanta-based Business Computer Applications

Falls Church-based Acentia, a technology and management solutions provider, has acquired Atlanta-based Business Computer Applications Inc. (BCA).

BCA provides information technology services and solutions to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and other health agencies.

BCA has worked with the CDC, National Institutes of Health (NIH), and the Health Resources & Services Agency (HRSA) for nearly 40 years.

Acentia said the acquisition significantly expands the company’s presence in the health IT market.

More than 30 BCA employees in Atlanta and Hyattsville, Md., will join Acentia’s  workforce of 1,100 employees.

Acentia’s health IT customers include the CDC, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the National Institutes of Health (NIH), and the Defense Health Agency (DHA).
