The Hilb Group acquires Ct.-based insurance company

Henrico County-based insurance company The Hilb Group LLC (THG) announced Tuesday it has acquired Shelton, Connecticut-based Ganim Group Inc. (Ganim Benefits) from investment advisory company Ganim Financial Inc.

Transaction details were not disclosed. This marks THG’s 11th acquisition within the past year.

Ganim Benefits provides employee benefits insurance, including group medical and dental. Ganim Benefits’ team, including Vice President and Chief Operating Officer Valerie Koch, will join THG of New England and continue to operate out of Ganim Financial’s existing location.

“We look forward to continue partnering with Larry Ganim and Ganim Financial to serve all of our existing clients but now with the expanded resources that THG has to offer,” Koch said in a statement. “THG has the same focus and dedication to servicing our clients, so we are excited to grow together.”

Since 2015, THG has acquired more than 60 companies, with its most recent announcement in late July that it had bought Michigan-based CIA Financial Group Inc. THG was founded in 2009 and has been a portfolio company of Washington, D.C.-based investment management company The Carlyle Group since late 2019. Across its 90 offices in 21 states, the company employs more than 900 people.
