Already the largest employer in Bath County, the Homestead Resort said Thursday that it has more than 100 job openings to fill as the result of a recent $25 million renovation. It included the addition of a   Canyon Ranch SpaClub,  a water park called Allegheny Springs and new restaurants.

With the addition of new workers, the Allegheny Mountain resort said it will employ a total of about 1,050 people. Current openings range from HVAC technician to assistant controller, food and beverage server, concierge and massage therapist.

The 60,000-square-foot spa is the first venture by Canyon Ranch in the mid-Atlantic region, and the only Canyon Ranch SpaClub to offer family spa services, including treatments and activities for children and teens.

The SpaClub’s opening next month coincides with the first full season of the Allegheny Springs attraction, a two-acre site with pools, water slides, a lazy river and private cabanas.

The Homestead, which opened in 1776, is spread across 3,000 acres in southwestern Virginia.
