Virginia Bar Association insurance agency rebrands

The insurance agency unit of the Virginia Bar Association, formed in 2001, has been rebranded as Virginia Bar Association Insurance.

Formerly known as Virginia Barristers Alliance Inc., the subsidiary provides insurance services and products to Virginia lawyers and offers employee benefit products. VBAI represents every health insurer providing coverage in Virginia.

The VBA is the largest voluntary bar association in the commonwealth, with about 5,000 members. Insurance and human capital management services

“The new name more solidly aligns the insurance agency subsidiary with The Virginia Bar Association,” VBAI president of the board Kenneth Hein said in a statement. “Many lawyers missed or didn’t know that VBAI was formed by and is part of The Virginia Bar Association, even after the insurance website at vba.org/vbai started being managed by the VBA. With our new name and logo, now that is clear.”

Other VBA subsidiaries will conform to the similar branding, including VBA on Main, The Virginia Bar Association Foundation, VBA Online CLE and the VBA Career Center. Each of these subsidiaries will have similar branding style to the VBAI.

“The personalized services VBAI provides have not changed,” Hein said. “Only the name has changed.”
