In the Lead: Best Women-Owned Businesses in Virginia

In the Lead: Best Women-Owned Businesses is a special section (online and print) from Virginia Business recognizing outstanding women-owned businesses based in Virginia. Winning companies will be featured in the May 2025 issue of Virginia Business magazine and online. To be eligible for consideration as one of the Best Women-Owned Businesses in Virginia, a company must:

  • Have majority ownership by a woman.
  • Have a woman in a major position of leadership.
  • Be based in Virginia.
  • Have at least four full-time employees who are not outside contractors.
  • Be more than four years old.
  • Be based in Virginia.
Winning businesses will demonstrate business success through growth in revenue or employees, and demonstrate community engagement. Mentoring and leadership opportunities for female employees, high employee morale and employee support programs are also areas that will be considered. Deadline for submission is March 17, 2025. Information provided on this form may be used by Virginia Business Magazine in the corresponding publication.
