PRESIDENT AND CEO, GOODWILL INDUSTRIES OF THE VALLEYS, ROANOKE
In northwest Roanoke, residents live on average six years less than people in neighboring communities — a disparity Vincent has worked to address. Since becoming president and CEO of Goodwill Industries of the Valleys in 2021, he has transformed the organization’s 130,000-square-foot headquarters into Melrose Plaza, a multiuse community hub that addresses all five social determinants of health under one roof. The complex houses a full-service grocery store that eliminated a longstanding food desert and created more than 50 jobs, a bank branch focused on financial literacy, a wellness center, a public library and an African American museum. The organization also started The Excel Center, Virginia’s first high school for adults without diplomas.
Goodwill Industries of the Valleys serves 35 counties and 14 cities throughout Central, Southwest and Southside Virginia. An Arizona State University graduate, Vincent serves on the boards of the Virginia Chamber of Commerce and the Roanoke Regional Partnership.
“I strive to meet people where they are, understand their unique needs and adapt my style to help them thrive,” he says.
