Thomas R. Bagby, president of Woods Rogers PLC, has been installed as 2013 president of The Virginia Bar Association, the state’s oldest and largest voluntary organization serving the legal profession.
Bagby is the sixth Woods Rogers attorney since 1928 to lead the VBA. He served as president-elect in 2012 and was installed on Jan. 26 at the organization’s 123rd Annual Meeting in Williamsburg. He will serve a one-year term.
Bagby is chair of Woods Rogers’ Labor and Employment Law Section.
The Roanoke native joined Woods Rogers in 1995.
He is co-author of “Labor & Employment Law in Virginia: A Business Guide for Employers,” published by the Virginia Chamber of Commerce.
Bagby served as a trial attorney with the U.S. Department of Justice, Civil Rights Division. He served as a law clerk in the District of Columbia to U.S. District Judge June L. Green for two years before joining the Department of Justice.
He earned both his law degree and bachelor’s degree from the University of Virginia.
