Virginia saw a slight tourism increase last year, Gov. Terry McAuliffe’s office announced Tuesday. In 2013, tourism revenue from tourists reached $21.5 billion, up 1.4 percent from 2012.
Last year, the tourism industry also supported 213,000 jobs, an increase of 1.4 percent in tourism employment since 2012. The industry also provided more than $1.42 billion in state and local taxes.
