Gov. Terry McAuliffe announced Wednesday a new, free tool that aims to make it easier for businesses to land state contracts.
B2B Connect is an online, publicly accessible message board. It is designed to help businesses show their willingness to partner with others on a Virginia contract.
The tool is available on Virginia’s procurement website and mobile app, eVA Mobile 4 Business.
“When it comes to competing for government contracts, the most time-consuming part is establishing relationships…” says Eric Wolfe, CEO at QRF Technology Inc., a service-disabled, veteran-owned business in Chesterfield County. “It’s truly an imperative tool, and it’s the only one that exists across all 50 states.”
McAuliffe’s office said the feature will be especially beneficial for small, women- and minority-owned (SWaM) businesses. They often partner with larger companies to compete for state contracts ranging from construction projects to providing medical, technology and other services.
