Donald Seale, a Norfolk Southern Corp. executive, has been named chair of the Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP) Board of Directors.
Seale, executive vice president and chief marketing officer at Norfolk Southern in Norfolk, succeeds John Malbon, president and chief operating officer at PAPCO Inc. in Virginia Beach.
As a state authority, the partnership is governed by a 24-member board, which includes businesspeople appointed by the governor and the General Assembly.
Chris Lumsden, CEO at Halifax Regional Health System in South Boston, was named vice chair. He succeeds Hugh Keogh, former president and CEO at the Virginia Chamber of Commerce.
New members of the board include: C. Daniel Clemente of Alexandria, Ned W. Massee of Midlothian and John G. Rocovich, Jr. of Roanoke.
The VEDP is a marketing organization created by the Virginia General Assembly in 1995.
It has offices in Virginia, China, Germany, Japan, India and the United Kingdom.
