Virginia Community Capital (VCC) has opened its first office in Hampton Roads.
The nonprofit offers nontraditional financing and advice to organizations and businesses located in low-to-moderate income communities.
The Hampton Roads office is located in Norfolk.
It is VCC’s fourth office in Virginia. VCC operates statewide and has offices in Christiansburg, Richmond and Springfield.
The Cabell Foundation provided a $1 million grant for the opening of the new office.
The Hampton Roads office is led by Thresa Joyce, who has been named senior vice president and senior loan officer for VCC. Joyce most recently was a mortgage broker for Cushman & Wakefield|Thalhimer. She also served as regional director of Mid-Atlantic originations, for Fremont Investment and Loan and Hometown Commercial Capital.
