Virginia Health Information has released its online “Compare HMOs” report that allows consumers and employers to track the 10 HMOs offered in Virginia.
The report, which can be found at http://vhi.org/hmo_compare.asp, measures HMO performance on more than 60 cost and quality measures.
For example, Virginians can use the report to compare the effectiveness of services, such as access to preventative care such as cancer screenings, immunizations, cardiovascular disease management, diabetes care and management and mental health.
The report also found that 83 percent of children 2 years or older have received all recommended vaccines and that 56 percent of adults between 50 and 64 received a flu shot.
This is the 11th year VHI has provided the report.
