Virginia Commonwealth University’s School of Business dean has joined Middleburg Trust Co.’s board of directors.
Before joining VCU, Ed Grier spent 29 years with the Walt Disney Co. where he served as president of Disneyland Resort, an operation that has $2 billion in annual revenue, 20,000 employees and 15 labor unions.
Grier serves on several boards, including the Richmond Forum and ChildFund International.
Richmond-based Middleburg Trust Co. was established as Virginia's first independent trust company in 1994 and in 1998 joined Middleburg Bank to form Independent Community Bankshares (renamed Middleburg Financial Corp. in 2002).
Middleburg Trust Co. is a subsidiary of Middleburg Financial Corp. and has more than $1 billion in assets.
