Virginia Foundation for Research and Economic Education (VA FREE), a business advocacy group, has chosen a former state delegate as its executive director.

Chris Saxman was a Republican delegate in the Virginia House of Delegates from 2002 until 2010 representing the 20th district which included Staunton, parts of Augusta County and Rockingham County, and Highland County. During that time he also was general manager of his family's business, Shenandoah Valley Water Co. and chairman of the International Bottled Water Association.

Prior to his role at VA FREE,  Saxman, who lives in Richmond, was founding partner of New South Partners, a business consulting company.

VA FREE is a statewide advocacy organization that works to promote a competitive pro-business environment in the commonwealth.
