Unmanned aircraft company Aurora Flight Sciences plans to build a $13.75 million robotics facility at its headquarters in Manassas, creating 135 jobs.
The facility will include a manufacturing unit, a research and development lab, a hanger and office space. The Manassas-based company was acquired by The Boeing Co. in 2017.
Aurora Flight Sciences is a developer and manufacturer of advanced aerospace platforms and autonomous systems.
Former Gov. Terry McAuliffe approved a $500,000 grant from the Commonwealth’s Opportunity Fund to assist Manassas with the project.
The company also will be eligible to receive sales and use tax exemptions on manufacturing equipment, as well as a Major Business Facility Job Tax Credit.
