United Methodist Family Services in Richmond has named Erik Laursen vice president of research and development. He will continue to be executive director of Charterhouse School.
The nonprofit social service agency also promoted Nancy Toscano to vice president of strategy and organizational improvement.
Laursen has been involved with United Methodist Family Services for more than 27 years. He has more than 30 years of experience in education, youth work and treatment. He earned his doctorate from Virginia Commonwealth University and is a master trainer in Life Space Crisis Intervention, a certified trainer in Response Ability and is a Qualified Myers-Briggs Type Practitioner.
Toscano has worked extensively with high-risk children and families in various capacities. A graduate of Siena College and New York University, she expects to complete a doctorate in public policy and administration at VCU this year.
United Methodist Family Services provides residential treatment, treatment foster care, school-based services, and Project LIFE and adoption services.
