Tredegar Film Products is expanding its manufacturing capacity at its facility in Pune, India.
Tredegar Film Products, a subsidiary of Richmond-based Tredegar Corp., said the expansion is part of Tredegar’s plans to grow in emerging markets.
The expansion will grow the company’s apertured filmed products for personal care applications in the growing hygiene market in India.
The additional capacity is expected to be operational in the fourth quarter of 2014.
The Pune plant opened in October 2010.
“Today, we are the leading supplier for apertured films in the region and by enhancing our local supply and service capabilities for our Asian customer base, we are further positioning Tredegar to benefit from the positive consumer purchasing trends in this geography,” Mary Jane Hellyar, president of Tredegar Film Products, said in a statement.
